Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 15
Pale yellow with green highlights. Musky, slightly reduced aromas of fruit salad and clove come across as a bit less pristine than the Désirée. Then sharply chiseled and dry in the mouth; less broad and open than the Désirée but with brighter acidity and more length. The 2013s finished very dry, noted Lafon, all between 0.5 and 1.0 grams of residual sugar per liter.

Meursault Fine Wine

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
